The pioneer of building a nation and the master of students, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, passed away on July 27, last year while delivering a lecture at the IIM-Shillong in Meghalaya.

For the Man who stood tall for the Nation

In remembrance of his first death anniversary, a life-size statue of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was unveiled by Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar at Peikarumbu, his burial site in Rameswaram Island.

Apart from the life-size statue of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, an exhibition termed “Mission of Life” which depicts the life, teachings, and achievements towards nation building is also set to be inaugurated.

Eminent personalities from different fields would be invited to share their experience in the lecture series.

The first lecture of the series would be delivered at the commemoration event on Tuesday, by Manas K Mandal, Director General – Life Sciences, DRDO. The lecture series will be the latest initiative by the institute amongst others.
